Planner/Buyer (m/f)
Department/Project:
Vaccine Process and Analytical Development (VPAD) consists of around 250 people located over three different sites (Leiden, Bern and Solna) and is responsible for delivering products to the business to supply clinical trial execution using our patented viral based vaccine technology. Process development activities to deliver the manufacturing processes leading to clinical trial materials (CTM) are supported by analytical development groups to help monitor and measure product quality attributes leading ultimately to release of material for clinical trials by our quality control and quality assurance group.
Job Description:
Responsible for the effective coordination of the material planning and purchasing your function will be supporting the operation of both the pilot plant and the VPAD development laboratories. As planner/buyer you would be responsible for:
• Develop, maintain and execute materials plans for clinical trial manufacturing to assure continuity of supply of critical, custom made materials.
• Develop, maintain and execute materials plans for development laboratories to assure continuity of supply of shared materials.
• Procure materials to meet plant and development operational requirements. Create & maintain purchase orders and vendor schedule materials while ensuring efficient and effective purchasing & inventory practices and optimizing the balance between quality, service, reliability and price for each material.
• Reviews and analyse statistical data to determine buying trends/volumes and to establish price objectives and/or opportunities.
• Investigates suppliers to confirm evaluation of capability, service, cost and overall suitability. Reviews comparison charts, proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery for nonstandard or larger than normal orders.
• Analyse sources and purchases of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material needed for production to ensure cost and quality standards are met.
• Examines trends related to discrepancies in order quantity, price and late deliveries to determine supplier performance.
• Compiles and analyses data related to procurement, scheduling and movement of materials and services to facilitate forecasting process. Makes recommendations to management regarding improving processes.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, systems and processes for the Logistics area to ensure the fluent supply of materials and products.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP’s and Business Compliance policies.
Kwalificaties
Education:
Associates Degree or Equivalent.
Qualification in supply chain management or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Specific Knowledge:
• Proven experience in MRP systems.
• Experience working in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment supporting non-clinical studies, analytical development, process development, validation, or manufacturing operations preferred.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing is an advantage.
• Understanding of GMP regulatory requirements and industry guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA, ICH).
Experience:
• Experience in Purchasing / Planning in a pharmaceutical environment or in a process industry, 6-8 years.
• Experienced in the implementation, development and execution of business planning and control systems.
• Experience with dealing with vendors and the scheduling of materials.
Competences:
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Ability to be able to collect, consolidate, analyze, summarize and report on supply chain data.
• Application knowledge of business planning and control systems.
