The Needle Utility Operator (2nd shift) will be under general supervisor and in accordance with applicable specifications, polishes, inspects, and heat-treats micro and channel needles in various alloys.
He/she will keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. Does all other work, related in nature, to assure efficient machine operation and maintenance of production schedule. Associate is responsible for compliance to GMP/ISO/OSHA as it pertains to daily activities within Ethicon.
The Needle Utility Operator (2nd shift) will have other duties related channel finishing such as fully understand process specification and operators manual for area. Electropolish channel needles along with siliconize and cutoff. Responsible for quality of outgoing product. Inspection of work is required on an as needed basis. Conduct clerical work necessary to transfer production to vault including computer transactions, box and weigh, and all transfer activities. Implement new specifications on an as needed basis. Prepares solution as instructed
The Needle Utility Operator (2nd shift) will have other duties related micro fishing such as fully understand process specification and operators manual for area. Electropolish channel micro needles along with siliconize. Responsible for quality of outgoing product. Inspection of work is required on an as needed basis
The Needle Utility Operator (2nd shift) will have other duties related micro inspection such as fully understand process specification and operators manual for area. Inspect channel micro needles and tray needles. Perform all QA functions. Conduct clerical work necessary to transfer production to vault including computer transactions, box and weigh, and all transfer activities.
In addition to the duties above, he/she will also be incolved in heat treat such as fully understanding process specification and operators manual for area. Heat treat 420. 455, and Ethalloy needle in a furnace using approved specifications. Understand testing procedures for micro and channel needles. Understand and perform the washing, heat treatment and testing of all needles. Work on personal computer to enter production and quality information. Other duties may be assigned in accordance with the production of micro and channel needles.
This position pays $22.21/hour and is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment.
Qualifications
A minimum of a High School Diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of operator experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Basic computer skills required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic mechanical skills required. Basic math skills including the ability to compute shop arithmetic, decimals, and fractions required. Alertness, accuracy, physical strength, safety consciousness, cooperative, good memory, and patience. The ability to perform tasks with high dexterity and fine manipulation is required. Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment is preferred. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and various processes and coordinate with other departments to effectively perform job duties. Ability to do batch change over for machine and basic change overs is required. This position requires the ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts on 2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The ability to work occasional overtime and some holidays is required.
