Cordis Corporation, a member of the Medical Devices & Diagnostics Global Services, L.L.C., Global Supply Chain organization, within Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Plant Manager for the Salvarcar facility in Juarez, Mexico.
Medical Devices & Diagnostics (MD&D) Supply Chain represents more than 60 manufacturing sites and 26,000 employees who plan, source, manufacture and deliver high-quality and cost-effective medical products to our customers around the globe each day. Work of the MD&D Supply Chain supports a multitude of product platforms, new products and delivery systems that are used in a wide range of procedures throughout the healthcare industry, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, minimally invasive surgery, hospital sterilization, clinical laboratory testing, diabetes management, joint replacement surgery and vision care.

The Plant Manager will oversee, direct, and facilitate the planning and execution of manufacturing operations within the Salvarcar facility in Juarez, Mexico. This individual will be responsible for the overall business performance in accordance with established sector and franchise goals and compliance with all Federal, State, and Corporate regulations applicable to the operation. Lead the organization using new technologies, innovative manufacturing processes as well as continuous pursuit of new business opportunities.
The Plant Manager will perform and execute strategic business planning. Build operational competencies and competitive advantage around the supply chain. Provide direction and hold immediate staff accountable for obtaining results using participative management style. Provide clear articulation of the operational and financial performance measures and monitors results. This individual will be responsible for people development across the organization; make sure back-ups for key positions are identified and developed. Ensure the facility is always in compliance with corporate quality standards and FDA requirements. Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental corporate and agency regulations integrating these into the daily business activities and decisions. Provide all necessary resources to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of the Quality, Safety, and Environmental systems. Own the ISO 14001 Standard implementation and continuous improvement and certification status. Work with commercial franchise partners to ensure seamless integration of new product launches into existing base business environment. Sit on relevant horizontal governance team and represents the mfg function while enabling end to end supply chain performance. Communicate business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business Administration, Pharmacy, Engineering or a related discipline. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing or a related field is required. Experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of people management experience is preferred. Exposure to new product launches, facilities construction and start-up’s preferred. Knowledge of Quality Assurance, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) , Safety and Environmental requirements, facilities maintenance, Finance and Human Resources planning and development preferred. Previous experience as a Plant Manager or General Manager is preferred. Must have the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. The ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to employees at all levels, top management, public groups and/or boards of directors is required. The ability to effectively deal with representatives of various government agencies is required. Must have the ability to translate corporate goals and objectives into successful strategies. Must have excellent communication skills. Must have strong analytical problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills, as well as associate relations capabilities, technology management, financial analyses and customer-focused decision making. The ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and influence decision-making across a matrix organization is required. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. This position requires frequent travel.
