Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in assembling part or assemblies into units by performing the following duties. Responsible for supervising, directly or through group leaders and/or lower level team leaders, employees with considerable variation in pay and complex skills. Other responsibilities involve assisting in the day-to-day planning of department activities, develop new methods and systems, authorizing overtime and controlling costs. Assignment of work is in accordance with schedules fixed by manager.

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, the duties of this position may include: Studies production schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Establishes or adjusts work schedules to meet production requirements; Interprets company or area policies and procedures to employees, enforces safety and compliance to environmental control procedures, and GMP regulations; and Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to employees and assigns duties.

Furthermore this role: Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, yields, and quality of product. Responds to and participates in corrective action implementation to observations identified in internal audits; Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or teams. He/she: Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. Routinely audits area for GMP and environmental compliance and participates in corrective action implementation; and Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals. Maintain time and production records.

Additionally, the ideal candidate: Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials; Confers with other supervisors to coordinate inter and intra departmental activities; Trains and certifies employees and supervisors to manufacturing processes/documentation and regulatory requirements. Revises manufacturing documentation as appropriate; and Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel or engineering as appropriate.

In this role he/she: Coordinates equipment repair to ensure least amount of downtime of production lines; Represents production on medium to large-scale new product development teams by providing scheduling assistance and technical input. If designed by manager, this candidate approves changes to manufacturing documentation and processes; and Leads complex investigation/corrective action efforts during production interruption circumstances.

As Document Specialist, the ideal candidate is responsible for: completing all appropriate health, safety and environmental hazard training; communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level; ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition; ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures; and Performs other duties assigned as needed.

The ideal candidate Must: have good to excellent organizational skill; Must be thorough and detail oriented; Must be able to successfully complete company/department training courses; Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision; and Must have good to excellent reading, writing and communication skills in the English language.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The employee will be required to wear special garments when working in a clean room. The work environment may be loud. The employee should have the ability to work with a variety of equipment. Hearing and eye protection must be worn while working new equipment. Safety shoes must be worn while working near equipment

The Operations Group Lead Reports directly to the production manager; Supervises all machine shop/extrusion machine operators; and has the Highest discernible level of supervisory responsibility. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; trouble shooting and technical support of process; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Qualifications


The following experiences are required: BS degree; 2+ years of manufacturing experience; Microsoft Office proficient; Previous supervisory experience; and Weekend and overtime work may be required.

The following experiences are preferred: Manufacturing lead experience; and Prior machine shop experience; and medical device industry experience.
