Description

Ethicon, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is currently recruiting for a Raw Material Technician located in Cornelia, GA.

The Raw Material Technician - 1st Shift will perform a variety of material control activities. Receive, store, issue and distribute non-routine materials and non-conforming materials or material returned from other facilities to Quality Assurance (QA) custody and follow established work instructions and quality procedures. This individual will verify that documentation submitted with material is complete. Inform addressees of material receipt. Enter and record material transactions and cost information in database. Applicable system to perform transactions to obtain costing information for parts on hold, to scrap material and to change material status.

The Raw material Technician will be responsible for the receiving/sending QA to QA material from/to other Ethicon locations using appropriate system and completing paperwork, identification and reconciliation. Prepare QA samples for shipment and completes the appropriate documentation for exportation. Release material used for protocols or engineering tests manually or using applicable system. Verify that information for rejected material is correctly. Identify and entered in non-conforming system as material is segregated. Update and distribute reports of material on hold as required. Control non-conforming components returned from the production floor. Tag material, verify material on hold status in applicable system, logging material in cage and updating database. Witness of the appropriate destruction of non-conforming material following the applicable procedures. Labeling/QA acceptance of components at the incoming raw material area and the electronic transaction of components (release) to the appropriate warehouse location. Perform evaluation of suspected non-conforming raw materials, as required. Inspect chemicals to be released to the floor and changes their status in applicable system, as necessary. Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area. Compliance with safety policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities. Return non-conforming material to supplier. Provide training of other associates, as needed. Follow Johnson & Johnson and Ethicon Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices, Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third party vendor, if applicable.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, quality and/ or material control experience is preferred. Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO and/or other regulatory requirements preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required. Experience with purchasing systems (e.g. Ariba) preferred. Experience with Non-Conformance (NCR)/CAPA systems preferred. Knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Adaptiv preferred. The ability to prepare technical reports, presentations and investigations is required. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong analytical problem-solving skills. Must be self-motivated and capable of completing job duties with limited supervision. The ability to interact with technical peers and manufacturing associates is required. Must be able to work 1st Shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm). The ability to work occasional overtime, off-shift hours and weekends, based on business needs, is required.
