The General Manager (GM) is responsible for providing overall strategic leadership for the Malvern manufacturing location, working with the site leadership team to establish and execute short and long range goals, strategies, plans and policies. This individual will develop and sustain a high performing organization where outstanding teamwork, product quality, plant productivity, financial management, employee engagement, etc. are part of a transformational business imperative. The GM is responsible for ensuring ongoing organization design and development of all employees to drive optimal performance and meet current and future business needs. This individual provides an environment that upholds the company’s commitment to employee development and the value of a diverse and inclusive workforce.

The GM also serves as primary host of the Malvern campus, where multiple PDMS technical groups and laboratories are located. This individual is in a critical lead role in maintaining the site’s right exist, right to sell and right to produce.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required. A focused degree in Life Sciences, preferably in Biochemistry or Biochemical Engineering is preferred. An advanced degree such an MBA is preferred. A minimum of 12 years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing or a related field is required. A minimum of 7 years of experience managing and developing people is required. A strong record of advancement in significant manufacturing operations leadership roles for commercially successful plant is required. Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations is required. Demonstrated large scale project management experience is required. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is preferred. GMP and ISO knowledge preferred. Experience with P&L management is required. Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Platform) software, administrative systems, plant support systems is required. Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Semiconductor Industry is preferred. Strong experience in the Environmental Health and Safety space is highly preferred. Experience working in a fill/finish manufacturing plant that utilizes automation and lean practices is preferred. Experience working in the quality function would be a plus.

Strong leadership, project and people management skills and demonstrated track record of delivering results in a highly pressurized environment are required. The ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners and the ability influence peers and higher level managers without authority is required. The ability to hold others accountable is required. Someone who is results-oriented, high energy, committed, and a strong communicator is necessary. Someone with experience in conflict resolution, negotiation, team skills, business sense, flexibility, initiative, strategic and visionary is also required.

This candidate may be required to travel up to 25% of the time, domestically and internationally. The position is based in Malvern, PA.
