Johnson & Johnson Sales and Logistics Company is currently recruiting for a Manager, Customer Development on the Walgreens Team. This position is located in Buffalo Grove, IL.

It represents one point of contact with our customers for selling teams, customer service, distribution, retail merchandising and professional detailing. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby and BAND-AID® Brands as well as leading beauty and skin care brands such as NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO® and more.

The Manager, Customer Development is the key daily interface responsible for the customer relationship. The incumbent has direct selling responsibility and is accountable for achieving shipment forecast and consumption sales objectives by managing an assigned product group(s) at a customer team. The incumbent develops and executes customer-specific business plans that support and are aligned to customer and marketing strategies. The incumbent monitors key metrics to track progress, evaluates, then adjust the plan to deliver results while maintaining awareness of the impact of decisions and actions on product group(s). The incumbent drives team goals while managing the budget for optimal ROI. The incumbent ensures alignment across teams, while growing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent may be assigned up to two direct reports and is accountable for talent management and development for these team members. The incumbent participates in special projects as assigned. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develops and executes business plans to deliver sales results, including maximized volume potential, increased merchandising effectiveness, growth of product group(s), and brand share. Responsible for accurate forecasting of monthly sales by franchise and/or brand and special packs/displays. Leads annual business planning process within assigned account(s). Leverages business analytics to influence customer and company decision making at top-to-top levels. Utilizes internal/customer business systems to manage and maximize plans (i.e., LYNX and ISIS). Regularly reconcile payments and update promotional plans to remain within budget. Gains alignment between company and customer strategies through selling and negotiation activities. Serves as the key point of contact while being viewed as a business consultant to the customer. Coordinates internal resources and facilitate teamwork to achieve company and customer business results. Manages trade spend to stay within budget, and to maximize ROI. Creates, establishes and/or manages customer-specific dashboards to monitor sales progress and identify and close sales gaps. Serves in the role as expert on assigned product group(s) and designs innovative programs that generate a win-win outcome. Effectively executes new item launch plans, while integrating customer/brand specific objectives. Provides input into the development of junior team members. Complies with company policy and procedures at all times. Maintains and complies with SAFE Fleet & Safety objectives and policies.

Qualifications


A 4 year degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is required. A minimum of 6 years of experience in a consumer products environment is required. Direct selling experience is strongly preferred. Sales strategy experience is preferred. Previous IRI/Nielsen experience is required. Up to 30% travel required.

Additional preferred responsibilities to include: Ability to prioritize and to successfully manage multiple projects/initiatives. Ability to work in a matrix environment. Ability to interpret and communicate complex business data. Ability to manage conflict and negotiate successfully. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships. Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, sales database and web applications.
