POSITION Details:
The position will support the development, deployment and implementation of risk based safety management processes related to the areas of Contractor management, Fall Prevention, Fire and Explosion, Control of Permit Required Work, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental management for Xi’an Janssen site.
He/she will support compliance of these internal sites and external supply partners with J&J and specific local governmental EH&S2 requirements.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Perform/support/follow-up risk assessments on Xi’an site and ensure Contractor management, Fall Prevention, Fire and Explosion, Control of Permit Required Work, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental management are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and J&J standards. Assure adherence to agreed action plans.
Ø Participate in and drive the development of risk based processes and tools to:
o Identify key risk areas;
o Track issues;
o Improve EH&S2performance.
Ø Provide EH&S2 training (focus on Contractor management, Fall Prevention, Fire and Explosion, Control of Permit Required Work, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental management).
Ø Provide input into proposed process and engineering modifications.
Ø Support/lead investigations of EH&S2 incidents
Ø Measure and drive continuous improvement, ensure action plans are in place to address gaps/areas of opportunity, follow-up and provide and organize support on action plans where needed.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant years of experience: relevant experience is better
Education and experience:
Ø Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Mechanical Engineering or related field. MS would be desirable.
Ø Broad technical expertise in the different fields of EH&S2 with a focus on Contractor management, Fall Prevention, Fire and Explosion, Control of Permit Required Work, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental management preferably in a chemical, petrochemical, refining, or pharmaceutical-manufacturing environment
Ø Experienced in risk management
Ø Implemented process based management system improvements
