ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Share responsibility with the Juarez Campus leadership team for EHS performance at the campus. [15%]
Partner with local management to develop and implement a site strategy to address EHS program deficiencies and ensure EHS regulatory compliance. [15%]
Develop EHS objectives for the campus - auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and effectiveness to management via dashboards & reports. [10%]
Create value by driving greater efficiently and standardization in the deployment of campus EHS resources, processes, and programs. [10%]
Develop and implement strategies to meet J&J EHS&S goals (e.g. Healthy Future 2015 targets). [10%]
Manage and develop a lean, highly competent EHS work team at the Juarez campus. Set and monitor goals/objectives/assignments, provide adequate coaching/counseling, develop/monitor employee development plans, and administer succession planning, appraisal, & salary planning processes. [10%]
Ensure EHS risks of operations are monitored and controlled.[5%]
Provides site leadership with ongoing consultation on EHS regulations by identifying the impacts of changes to regulations on key business objectives and defining resources needed to meet these regulations. [5%]
Conduct routine performance and service satisfaction reviews with site leaders. [5%]
Support and facilitate Campus EHS committees ensuring implementation of the EHS program. [5%]
Maintain ISO certifications (and other voluntary certifications) by ensuring site EHS management systems are aligned & maintained consistent with ISO and/or program standards. [5%]
Collaborate with other functions to manage EHS aspects of external manufacturers, suppliers and contractor programs. [5%]
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
For employees with supervisory responsibilities, ensure that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Quality Procedures, Laws and Regulations of the applicable markets
Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Science, engineering, or related EHS discipline/degree is preferred.
Experience: 6+ years of progressive EHS experience is required, with at least 3+ years managing EHS programs at a Manufacturing or R&D facility is required; extensive experience in an FDA regulated environment is preferred. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical experience in diverse EHS areas including but not limited to air, water, hazardous and medical waste, machine safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and chemical handling is highly desirable. Demonstrated project management skills are required and individual must have technical/working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. Must also possess strong organizational leadership and management skills; including talent development.

Excellent interpersonal, communication (written & verbal), problem-solving, planning, organizing, and time management skills
Strategic focus – ability to see big picture and define solutions to address future needs

Ability to work in a matrix, team oriented environment and create collaborative relationships with multiple organizations. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in MS Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
J&J Worldwide EHS data reporting and tracking systems.
Internet, intranet and database tools (internal and external) as needed to support the EHS function
