POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible the development; maintenance, procurement and execution of Materials plans, the review and execution of purchase requisitions and purchase orders, vendor scheduling, vendor managed inventory, material release schedules, inventory reporting and inventory positioning within and the Janssen Supply Chain (JSC). This position will manage raw materials and inventory for both Cork as well as Leiden. Position is based in Leiden, the Netherlands.
GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain raw material inventories, meeting the inventory target and applying the inventory policy, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials
- Develop, maintain and publish inventory information for direct materials
- Own material planning both for short lead time and long lead time materials to support the production plan
- Coordinate timely receipt and release of raw materials
- Validate requisitions and create and execute purchase orders for direct materials to support production
- Provides annual material plans to Global Procurement as part of Business Planning process and the periodic reviews of the BP
- Establishes and maintains the planning database for raw materials in the ERP system, This includes purchasing lead times, safety stocks and time fences
- Assists in development and maintenance of departmental policies and operating procedures
- Manage inventory of raw materials or intermediates for a platform across API LM sites and external vendors
- Participation on investigative teams, site group initiatives (e.g. customer complaints, business continuity planning, kaizen, lean team)
- Ensure raw material availability
- Timely escalate potential issues to uninterrupted supply of raw materials for the sites
- Interface with warehouse, quality, finance and operations for receipt of raw materials
- Actively participate in the monthly supplier reliability reporting
- Take appropriate action in resolving discrepancies for raw materials in order quantity, price and seeks corrective action on late delivers
- Conducts regularly schedules meetings with Materials services quality control and purchasing departments to strategically improve along continuous improvement
- Manage vendor master data in cornerstone
- Resolve invoice mismatches
- Manage activities and plan for change management with supplier qualifications
- Co-ordination and completion of required compliance process activities associated with materials, including SICC, Change Control, Deviations, Events & CAPA’s.
- Develop, maintain and publish inventory information on supply chain management – Monthly Purchasing & Inventory Management benchmark’s and KPI’s.
- Active participation in the JSC cost reduction programs and global procurement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP’s and Business Compliance policies.
Kwalificaties
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
Minimum of three years experience in a supply chain management – Purchasing / Planning environment.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in Purchasing / Planning in a pharmaceutical environment or in a process industry.
- Qualification in supply chain management or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- APICS certification
- Experienced in the implementation, development and execution of business planning and control systems.
- Experience with dealing with vendors and the scheduling of materials.
- Lean, process improvement experience
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to be able to collect, consolidate, analyze, summarize and report on large volumes of supply chain data.
- Ability to be able to benchmark and continuously improves business planning and supply chain management processes.
- Ability to be able to operate in a collaborative and cross-functional organization.
- Customer focused.
- Very good problem solving and resolution implementation skills.
- Highly motivated, adaptable and flexible.
