Under the direction of the Senior Manager - Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability, the candidate will provide technical support to the Industrial Hygiene Programs including the maintenance of robust processes to identify, evaluate and control risk in the pharmaceutical research environment
The Senior Industrial Hygiene Specialist will devise methods for achieving compliance with regulatory and Johnson & Johnson requirements while meeting the business constraints of the location(s) being supported. He/She will support development of site-specific procedures and programs based on corporate/franchise guidance and standards. This individual will support projects requiring knowledge of industrial hygiene practices from identification of potential risk to analysis of the level of risk to the implementation of appropriate control measures. The Senior Industrial Hygiene Specialist will manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines. This individual will investigate and perform root cause analysis. He/She will conduct self-assessment through MAARS process; determine appropriate actions and implement per agreed upon timeline. The Senior Industrial Hygiene Specialist will assure all records are properly maintained and reports are prepared/submitted in a timely manner. The Senior Industrial Hygiene Specialist will deliver industrial hygiene training materials to support compliance. He/She will partner with associates at all levels including frequent interaction with middle and senior management at the business location and occasional interaction with regulatory authorities. Additional responsibilities may include support of site’s general safety and health programs such as ergonomics, construction management, general occupational safety, and emergency response.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in EHS, Science, Engineering or related technical field is required. A minimum of 4 years experience within Environmental Health & Safety is required. Technical knowledge of Industrial Hygiene, Biological Safety and Occupational Safety, ergonomic is required. Experience with Environmental Compliance Program components is preferred. Pharmaceutical Industry experience is preferred. Certification as a CIH is preferred. The ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal is required. Basic presentation skills are required. Proficiency utilizing MS Office Suite is required (MS Word, Excel, Power Point).
This position is located in Spring House, PA and may require up to 10% travel both domestic and international.
