The Early Development Portfolio Leader position will direct Pulmunary Disease Area focused early compound development and provide strategic direction to the Compound Early Development Teams(CDT) acting as the primary spokesperson and the champion for Pulmunary Disease Area driven initiatives. This position will also manage external alliances leading co-development or licensing partnerships.

Key responsibilities include being responsible for managing a portfolio of multiple compounds aligned to Pulmunary Disease Area specific indications; Lead cross functional teams responsible for early development of compounds within a Pulmunary Disease Area; Leads major strategic alliances to ensure value creation and optimal alliance performance; Manage the complexity of internal/external development with highest degree of: Regulatory/commercial uncertainty, Safety issues (high or low risk drug), Pre-clinical issues, Formulation issues; Plan effectively to ensure CDTs have the resources to achieve their goals; Presents strategic issues and phase transition proposals at governance boards.

Qualifications


Advanced Degree (Ph.D., M.D., MBA) is required

At least 10 years of industry or academia experience is required

At least 3 years of drug development experience is required

Previous experience in leadership role is preferred
