The Engineering Technician will support Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers and production supervision to develop and implement manufacturing processes on the shop floor. The Engineering Technician is responsible for implementation of new production equipment by becoming the technical resource for equipment functions and operation and then serves as the training/mentoring resource to all shop employees, including new hires. The Engineering Technician must be proficient in machine operation and process technique to troubleshoot problems in a timely way and also work in an operator capacity when needed to support production requirements.
The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting new equipment acquisition efforts, including machine selection, installation, validation, employee training and other related equipment responsibilities as required. They will also support shop cell activities including CNC programming, trouble shooting, maintenance, and tooling/equipment performance. Provides training and mentoring in these areas to all employees they are supporting. Program, set up, and operate various pieces of shop equipment as required to complete assigned job requests. Develop machining programs, processes, and tooling for validation and production as required. Effectively communicate with Manufacturing Engineers, Product Development Engineers, Designers, Drafters and other resources as it applies to assigned projects. Follow all safety requirements in the performance of assigned tasks.
The Engineering Technician is also responsible for maintaining a work environment that provides open communication and effectively communicate ideas, concepts, and concerns. Must be customer service oriented and comfortable interacting with all levels of engineering professionals. Assist Quality Engineers in gage design, Gage R & R, and implementation as required. Assist with process control documentation, including collection and analysis of manufacturing system data. Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times. Diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by your supervisor or our Chief Compliance Officer. Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
A minimum of an Associate’s degree within a Manufacturing Technology or a Trade School Certification in a related field with equivalent work experience is required. A minimum of 2 years of hands on metal cutting experience within a manufacturing environment is required. Must have a familiarity with CNC programming, as well as experience troubleshooting metalcutting or assembly processes. Hands on experience programming Swiss turn lathes and Mills is preferred. Training and/or experience with MasterCam or equivalent is required. Must be familiar with computers.
This position is located in West Chester, PA and is on the 1st shift with hours from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm. It is a requirement that the successful candidate has the availability and willingness to commute to West Chester, PA and work the 1st shift hours on a daily basis. There may also be some overtime available and Saturdays, as dictated by the business.
