Position Summary:

This position leads and manages a department of Managers and Analysts which provides IT strategy leadership, domain architecture, program/project management and information technology-related services in the area of DW&BI. In collaboration with different R&D BUITgroups, the incumbent identifies and analyzes reporting needs, and translates them into sustainable data acquisition, data quality, data provisioning and reporting strategies. He/she oversees department members who lead and manage projects and programs, and may also lead and manage large programs him/herself.

Principal responsibilities:

- DW&BI IT Stragety: Demonstrates a deep understanding of the clinical landscape, including all business processes, and the interactions and integration of clinical data sources into a consistent DW strategy to support BI initiatives across R&D. Proposes new and improved solutions to complex business processes, creating multiple opportunities for innovation, always in close cooperation with BUIT.
- Program Management: May lead large Programs; oversees others that directly lead and manage Projects and Programs.
- Project Management: Oversees people who plan, organize and manage internal and external resources to achieve the goals and objectives of multiple large projects.
- Domain Architecture: Based on a thorough understanding of clinical processes, leads resources that analyze, define and document the relationship of all systems and services that support the DW strategy. Leads others in proposing improvements to individual IT capabilities or services in the DW&BI area. Leads others to influence business clients and IT colleagues on Application Landscape decisions that drive the implementation of the proposed domain BI improvements.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance, audit readiness and operational stability of application landscape. Adhere to Project Management, SDLC and other standard IT methodologies
- Organizational Leadership: Adhere to HR policies and procedures, such as performance management, staffing, training, development, remuneration, workforce administration (eg Health and Safety). Provide clear ongoing feedback and coach direct reports on performance during the year. Coach staff regarding non-technical performance, competency and career development. Ensure staff compliance with mandatory trainings. Ensure organizational succession plan is developed and kept up to date.

Qualifications


Education & experience:

- Deep knowledge and experience working with DW & BI systems for all aspect related to data handling, data quality, data exchanges and flows, data retrieval, reporting and visualization:

- Data modeling and data architecture, business data organization and data standardization.
- Data integration and migration: exchange, conversion
- Support for Master Data Management and Metadata Management.
- Datawarehouse/middle layer design.
- BI: query and retrieval, (dynamic) reporting, visualization,analytics.
- Dashboard design and development.
- Portal technologies.
- Experience managing consultant resources, and internal and external technical personnel in a fast-paced, complex, global project environment
- Experience managing global business priorities and projects across multiple business areas
- Demonstrated project management capability based on the successful completion of large projects in global, cross-functional business areas
- Demonstrated capability to develop, maintain, apply and influence data, application and technical architecture within multiple, global functional domains
- Strong communication skills, and strong relationship development and management capabilities in a global setting
- At least 5 years experience in a line management function and managing managers
- Strong foundation in and a thorough understanding of: 1) methodologies for system design, development, and implementation; 2) all phases of the Project Implementation life cycle; 3) validation and regulatory requirements. Preferred experience includes the use of prototyping tools. Must be informed on current and new technologies & their applicability to the business
- Bachelor/Master degree (or equivalent); progressive IT and business experience of 7-12 years is preferred.
