Johnson and Johnson Health Care Systems is currently recruiting for an Electrical & Controls Technician for their Memphis, Tennessee facility.
The Electrical & Controls Technician position will perform repairs; maintenance, troubleshooting and efficiency improvement associated with electrical, floor-level systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and computer network devices. Perform design and installation activities, maintain and troubleshoot electrical and control circuitry for the facility, utility, HVAC, packaging equipment, material handling equipment, security, environmental monitoring, fire monitoring systems, and program and repair PLCs (and PLC type controllers).
The Electrical & Controls Technician also plays a critical role in compliance, ensuring calibration and maintenance is performed and documented appropriately to ensure the safety of the patients using the medical devices stored and distributed within the facility. The equipment and facilities being maintained include roller conveyor systems, material handling equipment, HVAC equipment, air compressors, packaging machinery, storage systems and general building facilities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Responsible for process improvements, design and installation activities in support of new equipment or equipment upgrades.
Provide packaging and material handling equipment technical support
Responsible for work related to repair, maintenance, troubleshooting and efficiency improvement associated with electrical and instrumental devices and systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration
Perform equipment and process improvements
Work with Facility or Process Engineers, function as project leader for:
Equipment installations, improvements, support equipment design, programming, specification and selection, and safety improvements
Completes all other tasks/projects as assigned by management / supervisor
Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D or equivalent is required. This job will require a journey person Electrical & Controls Technician who has completed an apprenticeship program or who has graduated from a trade or military school program. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in an industrial setting; i.e. programming Allen Bradley PLCs, expertise in electrical/electronic systems on packaging/manufacturing equipment and control processing instrumentation is required. Experience with reading electrical schematics and experience with AutoCAD is desirable.

Demonstrated ability to follow policies, SOPs, regulations and legal requirement knowledge is preference.
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, MSOutlook, Powerpoint, Computer Managed Maintenace systems is preferred.
Ability to work with all levels within the organization.
No travel or no relocation.

The work environment is a normal warehouse setting. Travel is not required for this position.
