The Senior Customer Insights Manager, Walmart, develops customer, category, brand and/or shopper insights that result in optimal shipment sales, market share and conversion, while elevating customer thought leadership and partnership. The incumbent directly identifies category/GBU/brand-specific business opportunities, innovation, platforms and 4P strategies and tactics. The incumbent applies expertise across the customer, channels, assigned categories and brands to customer/category/brand-specific marketing strategies that result in achievement of business goals for J&J and customers.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Determine insights and analytical strategic priorities, key initiatives, and guiding principles for a category. Devise go-to-market plans for categories as assigned. Translate consumer, shopper and category insights into actionable strategies, while ensuring alignment between company and customer goals and objectives. Deliver leading edge insights and analytics to drive category and brand strategy designed to meet the unique requirements of the customer.
The incumbent will be recognized as the expert in category and brand understanding internally and at the customer. Demonstrate expertise in understanding the customer’s business, shoppers, strategies, vehicles. Represent the “voice of customer” and shopper for both internal and customer teams. Influence internal J&J product, program and category development strategies to improve conversion rates, drive market basket and assortment and enhance market share for both the customer and J&J. Develop category and customer best practices and ensure they are shared across the broader customer and J&J teams.
Additionally, the incumbent will partner with Marketing Research and Shopper to execute and leverage studies and interpret results from customer field studies to understand buying behavior and shopper preferences in order to develop innovative strategies. Deliver superior insights and analytics to support new-item launch strategies and plans for customer(s), leading to winning effort for customer and J&J. Comply with company policy and procedures at all times. Maintain and comply with SAFE Fleet & Safety objectives and policies.

Qualifications
A minimum of a 4-yr degree is required. A minimum of 6 years prior experience in consumer package goods or related industries, including prior experience in direct customer sales, business analytics, or customer/category marketing is required. Previous category management experience with Walmart or other large retailer experience required.
Must have expertise in accessing, assessing, interpreting, and drawing accurate conclusions from sales, customer, and shopper data. Must have the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment; action orientation, with the ability to analyze complex information and institute good solutions to solve problems proactively. Must have advanced analytical skills and the ability to conduct consumer research, including devising questionnaires, writing queries in database programs, developing reports and analyzing complex data to develop conclusions. Advanced computer skills with ability to create, manipulate, revise and modify data, documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. Ability to manage the talent and performance management process of reporting staff; ability to coach, train, and develop reporting staff to increase bench strength of the organization. This position will require up to 20% or more travel time and will be located in Bentonville, AR.
