Role Purpose
Provide senior leadership needed to sustain world-class manufacturing excellence in all LifeScan plants (Animas, Aguadilla, and Inverness, UBI) and successfully pull new products through into production in support of our strategic
plan. Implement LifeScan and MD and D global operations strategy for regional production.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the leadership and development of the following organizations: US/PR Operations and Inverness Operations
Specifically:
• Achieve world-class benchmarks for LifeScan manufacturing in all categories (service levels, quality, productivity, working
capital, compliance).
• Drive quality throughout manufacturing and take ownership for CAPA and NCR for the franchise. Ensure all facilities are inspection ready at all times. Drive quality improvements to
reduce defects in production and customer complaints.
• Build a robust pipeline of Operations leadership for the organization.
• Working with Supply Chain, ensure adequate capacity is available to achieve the strategic plan for EC and PM strips.
• Deliver the Gemini Manufacturing process into Inverness in preparation for a global launch. Also, provide leadership for
Gemini in UBI for production into test markets.
• Deliver new products into production an time and an budget with no recalls and ensure adequate capacity to meet unconstrained demand.
• Deliver an environmental, H&S, ergonomic and Industrial Hygiene improvements throughout the plants in pursuit of corporate and franchise goals with support from the Director, Facilities & EHS.

• Ensure accidents and incidents are fully investigated and reported and that preventive and corrective actions are closed out

Build strong relationships with global supply base and represent Lifescan in Puerto Rico and Scotland communities
Qualifications
Education / Training
Essential:
BS Engineering in any discipline, Life Sciences, or Business
Administration
Desirable:
MS Engineering or MBA
Experience
Essential:
Several years of increasing responsibility in manufacturing or supply chain specifically in high volume or highly engineered industries or medical device companies. Must have a track record of achieving high performance standards for service levels, safety, productivity, OEE, and quality across multiple factories. Must have board level experience in a large organization (1$18+ revenue).
Desirable:
Cross-functional experience in quality or R&D, experience with leading a board, experience with large capital projects (>$50MM in scope), experience with new plant start ups.
Skills / Knowledge
Essential:
Demonstrated ability to create and sustain world-class Operations performance (LIFR> 98%, OEE> 70%, N5% annual productivity, 6 sigma quality levels, inventory turns> 10). Experience running large or multi-plant organizations in a medical device environment required.
Experience with highly complex processes or machine environments required. Strong track record of building teams and developing talent required.
Desirable:
Lean production techniques and Six Sigma problem solving skills desired
Attributes / Characteristics
Must be high energy individual capable of leading site level board and have potential to become a VP Operations within 1-2 years.
