The Cell Support Operator sets up and operates various types of equipment used to manufacture various types of medical instruments/implants within established JIT (Just In Time) manufacturing processes, GMP's, and quality requirements.
The Cell Support Operator sets up and operates different types of machinery within secondary manufacturing operations. Performs assigned tasks, in order to produce, inspect and package various types of medical products. Equipment used depends on product being manufactured or operation being performed. Operator will inspect finished and in-process product for dimensional and cosmetic attributes according to defined specifications. Operator will also assemble, package, and label various orthopedic medical devices following specific procedures, and operate various manual and semi-automatic packaging equipment. The Cell Support Operator also performs preventative maintenance on equipment used. All of these operations are inspected using various types of measuring equipment including, but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, depth gages, thread gages, angle gages, bore depth gages, hex gages, plug gages, ball height gages, comparators, calibrated standards, optical / computerized gauging and inspection microscopes. Ensures that in process quality checks are completed following established quality specifications. Interface with quality and other production employees to resolve problems.
The Cell Support Operator ensures production requirements are met, product quality is maintained, machine maintenance schedule is adhered to, area cleaning is completed and all workplace safety rules are complied with at all times. Works in accordance with all requirements for manufacturing medical devices (e.g. FDA QSR, ISO 9000, ISO 13485). Completes required documentation as required by process, inspection sheets and work instructions. Must be present during scheduled manufacturing cell operation. Provides support by filling in for absences in qualified areas within manufacturing cell. Will interface with maintenance, tool room, quality, materials, and other manufacturing employees, as needed. Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times. Diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by your supervisor or our Chief Compliance Officer.
This position is on 2nd shift and the hours for the second shift are 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Additional overtime may be available as dictated by the production schedule and deadlines, along with some Saturdays.
Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Current/Previous Manufacturing experience is preferred. Manufacturing experience within the Medical Device industry is also preferred. Must have the ability to understand metric dimensional specifications and have good basic math and reading skills. Must also have the ability to demonstrate proficiency in the use of measurement instruments including but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, depth gages, thread gages, angle gages, bore depth gages, hex gages, plug gages, ball height gages, comparators, calibrated standards, optical / computerized gauging and inspection microscopes. Basic computer skills are required. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as exercise a strong attention to detail.
Must possess the ability to learn and adhere to specific procedures according to the department training plan. Responsibilities assigned may vary to suit business needs. This position requires extended standing at certain points throughout the day.
This position is located in West Chester, PA and is on the 2nd shift with hours from 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm. It is a requirement that the successful candidate has the availability and willingness to commute to West Chester, PA and work the 2nd shift hours on a daily basis. There may also be some overtime available and Saturdays.
