Among the products represented by its various business units are: surgical instruments, orthopaedic implants, devices for women’s health including breast care, infection prevention and general purpose sterilizers, hernia solutions, haemostatic products, cardiovascular and neurovascular diagnostics and treatment.

Position Overview

The Lead, Depuy SynthesLoaner Processing is responsible for the efficient utilization of Inventory, Capital and Human resources in support of both in-house and loaned assets (Depuy Synthes Instruments and Implants) and loaner processes.

Working in collaboration with Marketing and Sales Leadership, Sales Agents and Representatives, and Operations Leadership, key functions include, but are not limited to: Depuy Synthes loaner sets and Depuy Synthes Loaner Processing Process Management, Associate Development and Performance Management, and Asset Deployment, Maintenance and Optimization.

Key responsibilities:

Daily process management: ensuring compliant accurate productivity based on measurable performance indicators, coordination of resources, employee training, and incident investigation and resolution in support of Depuy Synthes Loaner sets and Depuy Synthes Loaner processes.

Liaise with key stakeholders in the Depuy Synthes business to increase collaboration between business partners and CLS Canada.

Asset deployment management: manage assembly and applicable components of the fixed asset management processes in support of optimizing Depuy Synthes loaner sets and Customer asset utilization.

Asset management support: in collaboration with applicable franchise personnel, conduct appropriate audits (financial, quality, expiry), account and Depuy Synthes asset analytics, and optimization exercises to maximize return on assets deployed.

Health and Safety program leadership and execution: championing awareness and training within the Asset Management Team, and ensuring compliance to all company health, safety and environmental objectives.

Employee Performance Management: development and deployment of team and individual objectives, execution of periodic performance assessments, disciplining and remedial training and development of employees as required.

Employee Development: identification and promotion of employee development opportunities, succession profile development and planning, and coaching and mentoring to ensure every associate has the opportunity to perform their best work.

Lead and participate in general management activities: staffing analysis, budget planning and execution, employee recognition, communication, policy and procedure development, performance reporting, continuous improvement, and general administration duties.

In alignment with Franchise and JJMC Operations imperatives, actively identify and lead continuous improvement (Lean/PE) initiatives.

Take responsibility for a compliant Processing operation by staying informed on industry and emerging J&J standards on instrument processing and reprocessing.

Responsible for quality systems compliance at an operational process execution level.

Qualifications


Essential:

Undergraduate University degree

4 years experience in business, program or project management (Demonstrated leadership in 2 major initiatives)

Experience must include financial monitoring and control, supply management, workload delegation, quality control, and staffing methodology

2 years experience in people management

2 years experience in Lean/Six sigma/Process Excellence

Must have or be able to acquire within a reasonable period of time a thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions and regulations applicable to the area of supervision

Desirable:

Complete working knowledge of the procedures and standards governing the work performed in medical device reprocessing, including CSA sterilization standards and the applicable operating room standards.

Successful completion of a recognized sterile processing instrument technician program is required. Knowledgeable in infection control issues, and medical device reprocessing equipment, including washer/decontamination, and various types of sterilization technology.

Working knowledge of the department’s software packages.

Demonstrated responsiveness to customer needs is essential.
