The Execution Systems COE is an enterprise wide, cross-sector organization, responsible for the integration of lab and manufacturing systems work, to create an end to end global JJSC vision of Lab to Patient and the standards for content, execution and visualization of all batch manufacturing activities.

Reporting to the Vice President, Execution Systems COE, the Director – Standards, Analytics & Visualization will lead a multi -disciplinary team who will develop and own set of technical and cultural standards necessary to lead transformation to achieve the Lab to Patient execution systems vision. Through a set of content standards, a connection between regulatory filings and batch execution activities will be established. This role is responsible for developing common methodology leading to compliance and efficiency gains in deployment and will be established thru governance principles, standardization, best practices and development of strategic partnerships.

In partnership with COE peers this individual will drive a cross sector - integrated approach and cross function integration, specifically with product development work streams responsible for initial recipe authoring. The Director will lead a diverse team of professionals with expertise in the areas of Batch Process Control, Change Management, Data Analytics and Visualization. Team members may reside in various regions across JJSC. At this level, the individual will have direct contribution to the development of business and/or functional strategies and capabilities. Serve as a liaison and single point of contact for other functions including Product/ Process Development, Regulatory, IT, Quality Systems, and strategic programs.

This role directly contributes to the development of business and/or functional strategies and capabilities and drives synergies among programs and applied methodologies. The Director, Standards, Analytics and Visualization will collate best practices around business standardization, creating templates for repeatable work content, developing master list of initiatives, tracking investments, including business case, resources, project timelines, deliverables and metrics, are within realm of this role. The Director is responsible for establishing a unified culture – with a common language, set of principles and practices around batch content, its execution within the context of manufacturing and laboratory and real time data analytics. Through the set of content standards, including platform recipe libraries and process actions, is responsible to develop clear connection between regulatory filings and batch execution activities. The Director is the point of contact for all technology providers in collaboration with Information technology organization, and central repository for relevant commercial agreements.

The Director, Standards, Analytics and Visualization will provide project leadership by implementing processes to prioritize projects within the portfolio, and match appropriate resources to ensure benefits are realized. The Director will establish program tracking and reporting to ensure group is on track for key benefits realization. The Director motivates and inspires the team to drive significantly increased performance through technical innovation and change. The Director provides leadership and development for the team and ensure there is a diverse pipeline of high performing multi-skilled leaders of the future and drive a Credo-based culture aligned around our guiding principles of servant leadership, Think Differently, Do Better, innovation, engagement, collaboration and development. This individual will handle all aspects of managing personnel, including hiring and terminations, provide coaching and development opportunities, evaluate performance and provide feedback, and implement disciplinary actions, as necessary. This role will ensure compliance in all aspects of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) per Johnson & Johnson standards.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree in a Science or Engineering discipline or MBA is preferred. Experience working in a regulated industry is required. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a GMP or GLP regulated and related position, demonstrating increased leadership assignments and responsibilities, is required. A deep knowledge of project management processes and change management experience demonstrated through leading high scale transformational activities is required. Exposure to industry standards in areas of batch process control and business analytics is required.

Experience leading in a global, highly matrixed environment is required. Experience delivering innovative technical and engineering solutions in multiple manufacturing environments is required. Large-scale project leadership experience is required. Demonstrated results leading, coaching and managing change that serves to motivate and inspire a highly engaged workforce to significantly improve performance, achieve stretch goals and solve problems is required. Must have a proven track record of developing technical talent. Knowledge of Process Excellence tools (Lean, Six Sigma) is preferred. Green or Black Belt Certification in Lean or Six Sigma is preferred. Knowledge of technology development and validation, including design of experiments and statistical analysis, is preferred. Must have the ability to assess and mitigate technical risks. Familiarity with IT application design and deployment is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must have strong decision making and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to think strategically and manage change. The ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and drive alignment in a global environment is required. This position will require up to 50% domestic and international travel.
