The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in developing and implementing processes for the manufacture of machined products. He/she will lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams concentrating on the improvement of existing products and processes along with the launch of new products. This individual will work with the Lean and Product Development, CIP teams and the Quality group for the successful qualification of the product and process for improved manufacturability. The Manufacturing Engineer will work with other manufacturing, process and quality engineers to develop new products and processes ensuring compliance with approved methods and quality standards. He/she will be responsible for the purchasing of new capital equipment to support operations focused in the Machined products production cell.

The Manufacturing Engineer provides manufacturing engineering support to the Machined Products Production Cell, ensures compliance with all FDA, ISO, quality, safety and environmental regulations and initiatives and leads or assists with projects to in-load or transfer products. He/she will review of designs for manufacturability, procure capital, and define tooling requirements and developing manufacturing process with project team members. This individual will be responsible for coordinating development and validation activities for manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will also initiate and lead process and product improvement programs for cycle time, cost reduction, safety and quality improvement. He/she will drive quality and process improvements by effectively utilizing Process Excellence tools to improve operations in the Machined Products cell. This individual will develop manufacturing specifications, bills, routes and travelers in support of new and existing products. The Manufacturing Engineer must be able to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues, develop and implement detailed project plans, develop and institute cost improvement programs and be able to apply engineering and quality principles in support of manufacturing. He/she will also possess the ability to read, interpret, and utilize engineering drawings and electronic data for product and process development.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required; Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering is required. Previous experience working within a regulated industry is required. Medical Device industry experience is preferred. GD&T and process excellence experience is required. Knowledge of process validations, process mapping and CMM programming are preferred. Prior CNC machining experience is preferred. UG Cad-Cam background is preferred. The ability to lead projects through completion is required. Strong interpersonal skills are required, and both written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to work effectively in cross functional teams is required. Proficiency utilizing MS Office Suite is required (Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.)

This position is located in Raynham, MA and may require up to 10% travel including international.
