The Principal Engineer - Quality Strategy & Analytics is responsible for identifying and integrating key customer centric quality and business process improvement programs and strategic roadmaps including managing resource requirements, timeline and change management tools for DePuy Synthes. He/she will lead Proactive Quality events leveraging internal and external data base and formulate improvement strategies by enlisting and influencing cross-functional teams, delivering tangible business results through the application of FPX, Six Sigma and Lean methodologies and tools. Utilizing their business, leadership and technical skills, the Strategy and Analytics Principal Engineer will lead implementation of comprehensive Quality Program Portfolio Management Process ensuring alignment with enterprise, business and functional priorities. This individual will be accountable for building key analytical skills i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, FPX etc. that will enhance talent capabilities.

The Principal Engineer - Quality Strategy & Analytics will conduct data analytics and formulate improvement strategies. He/she will lead integration activities related to Quality Strategic Roadmap including managing resource requirements, timeline and change management tools. Implement and enable Quality OGSM and Program Portfolio Management Process. One will facilitate integration of key J&J Enterprise Programs i.e. JJPS, JJSPC. This individual will develop analytical and project management capabilities i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, FPX, ASQ etc. He/she will lead implementation of key global quality process improvement initiatives/projects. Collaborate and partner with stakeholders across multiple functions and sites. Provide necessary training and mentoring on analytical skills i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, FPX etc. He/she will follow and observe all regulatory requirements (GMP’s, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility. One will comply with J&J Safety Requirement and safe working conditions and practices in the department. Other responsibilities may be assigned & not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.

Qualifications


To be considered for the role a minimum of a Bachelor degree is required in an Engineering or Science discipline. 8+ years overall business experience with a minimum 5 years in manufacturing is required. 1+ year in Project Management and strong cross-functional business acumen is required. Black Belt Certification in Lean or Six Sigma required (Master Black Belt preferred). Candidate must be able to document successful prior leadership, training delivery, deployment of Lean Principles and re-engineered manufacturing and transactional processes. Experience should include six sigma and Lean methodologies, Project Management and strong cross-functional business acumen. Able to deliver oral and written communications around process improvement projects that has clarity and impact. Organized, analytical approach to problem solving. Some familiarity with FDA, GMP and ISO requirements. Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, Visio. Experience working in a Global Matrix organization Working knowledge and demonstrated ability in project management. Ability to audit production areas; identifies non-compliance to requirements, and develop/oversee action plans for corrective action. An in-depth knowledge of such matters such as labor relations, manufacturing methods, production planning and assembly. In-depth understanding of accounting (standard cost), QSR/ISO requirements, trend analysis and failure rate analysis. An in-depth understanding of production and quality control techniques such as CFM, JIT, TQM, CIM, etc. Must understand and have ability to analyze market requirements and opportunities for product lines. Ability to understand and translate customer needs (explicit and implied); customer facing metric development.

This position may be located at the DePuy Synthes locations in West Chester, PA; Raynham, MA; Warsaw, IN; Monument, CO; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and/or Miramar, FL. The position will require up to 30% travel (some international) based on business needs.
