Janssen Research & Development UK

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Analyst of the highest calibre to join the Janssen R&D UK FP&A team in High Wycombe. Reporting to the Finance Manager this role is an integral part of the UK Finance FP&A team, currently consisting of 5 employees and the role involves a high level of business support and analysis both locally and globally.

The Janssen R&D UK Management Reporting Company (MRC) consists of three businesses:

1. Janssen R&D UK – focused on regulatory and global medical safety, incurring annual expenditure circa £45m and approx. 325 staff;

2. Respivert Limited – a 2010 UK acquisition, focused on the identification of new R&D treatments for respiratory diseases, located in London, incurring annual expenditure circa £25m;

3. High Wycombe Property Management (HWPM), a division of Johnson & Johnson Innovation Limited (JJIL) – owns and manages the J&J High Wycombe Office

The finance team also provides shared services to the London Innovation Centre, Janssen Alzheimer Immunotherapy (Janssen AI) Ireland, Janssen Healthcare Innovation (JHI) and Crucell Vaccines Institute UK (CVI).

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should have a strong analytical mind-set and should be confident in representing FP&A Finance UK and the businesses at a local and global level. They should have the ability to develop strong business relationships across different countries and in varying areas of the business. They should be proficient in financial analysis, financial reporting and be willing to travel within the role.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Take a key role in month and quarter end closing processes in accordance with US GAAP principles, J&J Worldwide Procedures and internal operating procedures
- Responsibility for correct and effective execution of monthly and quarterly intercompany processes
- Building and monitoring capital forecasts with business partners, and timely and accurate reporting and monitoring of actual and budget capital data to J&J Corporate through relevant reporting systems
- Maintaining and monitoring accurate financial data in SAP Beacon
- Ensuring compliance with all SOX requirements
- Provide support for annual statutory audits of JJIL, Janssen R&D UK and Respivert Limited and J&J Corporate Internal Audits
- Business partner to the HWPM facilities team
- Effective delivery of shared services to the London Innovation Centre, Crucell Vaccines Institute and Janssen Healthcare Innovation

- Participation in ad hoc projects, initiatives and analysis, both locally and globally

- Some travel requirements within Europe and US
- Participation in / leading global R&D Finance projects

Qualifications


Qualifications


- Professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

- Relevant post qualification experience

- Technically strong, with the ability to manage and control a broad area of responsibilities

- Keen attention to detail and accuracy

- High level of integrity

- Driven to achieve excellent results

- Proactive and willing to develop the role

- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work and deadlines

- A team player but also with the ability to work independently and to adapt to changes in a dynamic business environment

- Strong influencing & communication skills with the ability to lead conversations with senior team members

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and also Adobe

- Prior knowledge of SAP is desirable

- Experience of working in an environment with both a local and global focus is desirable
