Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for an Electrician 2 (2nd shift) located in Albuquerque, NM.
The Ethicon Surgical Care business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies-including sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices-that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women's health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Electrician 2 is responsible to perform electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment installation and modification to a wide variety of production equipment. Perform electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment installation and modification to a wide variety of production equipment with limited supervision; Coordinate project scheduling with other maintenance technicians, engineers, plant personnel and contractors; Complete, in a professional manner, maintenance logs, purchase requisitions, preventive maintenance inspections records, drawing revision documentation and other required engineering documentation; Maintain an interest in contributing to design improvements and upgrading existing equipment. Participate in a support maintenance team effort. Exhibit safe work habits in handling equipment and tools and use of protective equipment. Available to work overtime, emergency call-in and three shifts or a rotating shift when required. Work with engineers to construct, wire, and program and start up new process equipment.
Know and use basic computer knowledge/programming interface; Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the lab/shop/manufacturing area; Attend required safety training; Promote safety to all associates that enter the work area; Reports to Senior or Staff Engineer; Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Long periods of walking and standing; Bend, stoop and reach occasionally; Some office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, reaching and using the phone and computer; Lifting of loads under 30 lb regularly; Occasionally lift loads over 30 lbs but less than 50 lbs
Qualifications
Completion of Associate’s Degree, Technical School, apprentice program or a qualifying combination of experience and education required. A minimum of five years of experience as an electrical / electronics maintenance technician required. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Working knowledge of power distribution systems, electrical controls systems and experience with programmable controllers required. Must be able to use complex schematics, drawings and test equipment to troubleshoot equipment problems. Must be able to recognize systems and equipment problems at an early stage and take necessary corrective action. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to accurately report and document maintenance and engineering project activities.
An electrical license preferred. Knowledge of electrical motion control and machine vision systems is preferred. Excellent programming and personal computer skills preferred.
