Process Engineer Co-op Responsibilities: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Packaging Engineering:
The Process Engineer will support engineers and project managers in the optimization of the production process by improving equipment uptime and efficiency and planning / executing projects designed to improve manufacturing processes for optimal performance. The co-op will facilitate technology transfer of new product introduction from process development through commercial-scale-up. Prepare process development protocols and coordinate all activities related to their execution. Support equipment installation qualification activities for new equipment. Implement equipment / tooling / processes to improve efficiencies, increase productivity and/or improve quality. Follow and observe all regulatory requirements (GMP's, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility and comply with J&J Safety/Environmental Requirement and safe working conditions and practices.
Project Engineer Co-op Responsibilities: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering:
The Project Engineer Co-op will manage challenges in the areas of technical expertise (Engineering disciplines) and personal computer systems (Microsoft Office). Ad-hoc projects will be incorporated into each position in addition to the core responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include providing support to Project Engineers in design, execution and validation of projects in accordance with Marketing requirements as well as Manufacturing/Packaging capabilities. Work with cross-functional teams representing all levels of the organization (Line Technicians to Directors) as well as outside vendors and contractors to accomplish project objectives. Develop specifications and provide technical support to project teams. Assist with project execution by writing and executing protocols, ordering components and coordinating with the staff engineers as well as maintenance and operations staff. Leadership of an individual project in support of departmental goals to be completed by the Co-op. Gain insight into the regulatory aspects of the Pharmaceutical industry through packaging design and development and production qualification by executing packaging line trial protocols and validations.
Examples of past projects include: Utilities (HVAC, Compressed Air, Purified Water) and Engineering (equipment installations, process and cross contamination controls).

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status).
NOTE: If you are authorized to work in the United States based upon practical training as a result of being in F-1, J-1, H-1, L-1, E-1, E-2, O, P or OPT/CPT status, you will not be interviewed or considered for these employment opportunities.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 Cumulative is strongly preferred. Candidate must be a matriculated student in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree during the time of the co-op. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required. Able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills are required. Excellent communication, presentation and leadership qualities are required. Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency. Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently within a matrix environment where tight timelines exist. Candidate must have reliable transportation to and from work on a daily basis for the duration of the co-op.
Candidate must be able to work full time (8 – 4:30 core hours / 40 hours per week) during the 6 month co-op position.
