Codman Neurovascular, of DePuy Synthes, is recruiting for a Mechanic II, Production Maintenance in its Raynham, MA location.

Codman Neuro is the Neurological business focused on neurosurgery, neurovascular and neuromodulation, offering a broad portfolio of solutions including programmable shunt systems, catheters, trauma monitoring devices, drug pumps, neurovascular coils, liquid embolics and vascular reconstruction devices.

The Mechanic II, Production Maintenance will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and supporting all aspects of Codman’s production maintenance activities. This includes, but is not limited to preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment enhancements, new equipment installations and lean initiatives. Setup and change over production equipment. Maintain and Repair Automated Pattie Machines, Hybrid Pattie Machines, Multivac Form Fill Sealing Equipment, Atlas Vac Sealing Equipment, Bell Mark/Video Jet Printers, Rando non-woven material process equipment and Slitting Equipment. Identify and implement process improvements. Order spare parts and maintain accurate parts inventory levels. Prioritize work orders and emergency repairs based on equipment criticality and operational needs. Document all maintenance related activities in Enterprise Computerized Maintenance Management System-Maximo. Support Operations and Engineering in meeting production goals and ensure product quality and equipment output is maintained. In addition this individual will be responsible for compliance with all company safety, health, environmental and quality policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required. Technical vocational training in machining operations and/or electrical/electronics is required. Post-high school training in a related technical field (i.e. hydrolics, electronics) is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of related equipment maintenance experience including related training is required.

Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer & Outlook Computer experience is required. Proven mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Experience with automation including highly complex mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, PLC and motion controllers is required. Proficiency with standard machine shop tools, bridgeport, surface grinder, lathe is required. Must be able to supply own hand tools/rollaway toolbox (i.e. screw drivers, socket wrenches, etc.).

The ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics is required. Must be able to communicate (read, write and speak) effectively in English. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to support cross functional teams including Quality, Operations & Engineering.

The ability to lift heavy loads, stand and/or walk more than 90% of the time and perform twisting and turning activities required. The ability to work in confined or awkward areas, climb ladders and work from heights required. Must be able and willing to work in a ISO Class 8 Clean Room environment requiring gowning. Must be a team player and be able to work with minimal technical supervision. Must be able to work 2rd shift (3:30PM-12:00AM Monday-Friday) and work overtime (12:00AM-2:00AM Monday-Friday and 11:00AM-5:00PM on Saturday) as required to support manufacturing operations.
