The Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting various quality, production, and safety objectives. Objectives are met through the development of direct reports. The position interfaces with direct reports, facilitating daily update meetings, assigning and directing their work assignments and monitoring work performance, provides direct performance feedback on a routine basis and provide written annual performance reviews and formulates process improvements on manufacturing equipment, written procedures, product Quality and Safety improvements. The Production Supervisor initiates work orders, engineering work requests, data collection for justification of work to be performed, interfaces directly with equipment engineering, production management, QA, and product engineering to implement and complete process improvement projects. The position investigates and writes exception investigations on process, product or procedural deviations, interfaces with CAPA and QA to complete and close investigations and also required to formulate and complete follow up corrective actions.
The Production Supervisor performs batch record audits, reviewing records for accuracy and completion, attends daily Production Scheduling Meetings with upper production management, planning, CAPA and support groups and directly provides detailed information on the status/performance of each production process to the group. They will also assist with formulating production strategy/optimization, trouble shoot and perform follow up assignments that have resulted from these meetings. The Production Supervisor facilitates daily Line Performance Meetings with production personnel. These meetings cover explaining new company policy changes, general announcements, safety training/incidences and general procedure training. Meetings include recognizing excellent performance of team members and providing detailed updates of the current state of each manufacturing process to the team and preparing Paperwork, Equipment, and Materials for Upcoming Production Lots.
The Production Supervisor requires judgment in applying established practices and diversified procedures, encounters situations and problems which do not fall clearly within the bounds of general standards precedents and may adapt or modify methods to meet varying situations. They will take action as indicated by approved policies and accepted standard practices, exercise ingenuity to take action in the absence of previous instructions, to develop new and/or improved work methods and resolves problems of an unusual nature, with supervisory review available. The position interacts with both internal and external contacts, instructs and advises others in work details and directs and assigns work to group of permanently assigned employees. The position is located in Vacaville, CA and requires up to 5% domestic and international travel.
Qualifications
It is required the Production Supervisor have a minimum of a BA/BS Degree with a BS preferred. A minimum of one year of Pharmaceutical, regulated work environment or related experience required. Prior experience in a high volume environment is preferred. Ability to work weekend or off shift work may be required as is working with hazardous chemicals and controlled substances. The ability to work under various environmental conditions and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clean room environment are requirements. The position is located in Vacaville, CA and requires up to 5% domestic and international travel.
