We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated PhD or MD scientist to join a team of scientists working towards discovery of unique anti-cancer agents for the treatment of prostate cancer. He or she will be a highly creative biologist with a strong desire to succeed at the highest level. A background in cancer endocrinology ideally in the field of prostate cancer as well as a record of accomplishment using molecular and cellular approaches to identify novel drug targets for the development of new anti-cancer drugs is desirable.
The incumbent will:
Independently design, execute and interpret in vitro, ex-vivo and in vivo experiments to validate targets, optimize compound selection and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets.
Work collaboratively in a matrix environment, partnering with colleagues from Chemistry, DMPK, Safety, and Molecular Pathology to accelerate advancement of compounds.
Identify and implement pharmacodynamic assays to define PK/PD/efficacy relationships.
Utilize literature and internal genomics data sets to design and test hypothesis for drug targets.
Present and report research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.
Analyze data generated by various studies and leverage results for the design of future studies and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets.
Keep up-to-date in the literature related to his/her field. Act as an expert resource in his/her scientific field and in related disciplines and contribute to projects outside of his/her own, and collaborate with stakeholders from all relevant functions
Qualifications
Ph.D (or MD) degree in biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, cancer biology, or related field.
0 - 3 years of post-doctorial experience
Experience in cancer endocrinology, nuclear hormone receptor signaling as evidenced by publication in peer-reviewed journals Industry experience in cancer research, is expected.
Ability to manage multiple in vivo and in vitro experiments simultaneously.
