DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction is the Joint Reconstruction business offering orthopaedic devices, solutions and supplies for hip, knee and extremity reconstruction, in addition to cement and operating room products.

The Machine Operator I will be responsible for operating machinery to produce parts, tools and equipment using sketches, prints or instruction manuals. This individual will be accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines. Assist with set up and operation of machinery to produce parts, tools and equipment. Modify parts based on quality inspection results to assure conformance to requirements. Clean machines as necessary and assist with basic maintenance. Correct basic manufacturing problems as directed. Request supplies for assigned equipment and maintains calibration records. Notify supervisor when machinery needs maintenance or repairs. Review and implement all quality and safety requirements.

The schedule required for this position is Sunday night through Thursday night, between the hours of 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Training will be conducted during 1st Shift for a period of 4 to 6 weeks, depending on skills level.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. A minimum of 3 years experience working in a production line environment or machine shop is required. Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or other regulated environment preferred. Experience working in an environment that has gone through Lean process changes preferred. Basic mechanical skills required. Machine diagnostics skills are preferred. Machine/tool set-up preferred General tooling experience preferred. Experience with CNC milling/grinding machines preferred. Experience with routine machine inspection preferred. Basic computer skills required. Experience collaborating in a team environment is required and the ability to communicate effectively (read, write, and speak) in English is required. The ability to read blueprints is required. Basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages and work with decimals are preferred. Ability to work with metric and standard measurements required. Must have the ability to perform and record measurements with calipers, drop indicators, micrometers and gauges. The ability to stand and/or walk more than 80% of the time is required. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unaided is required. This person must be able to work overtime and holidays as required.
