Facilities Management – Headquarters Facilities Project Management Summer Internship

Worldwide Engineering & Technical Operations (WWE&TO) Summer Intern in the area of Facilities Project Management will be involved with various projects within the organization. An Intern should expect to own the following roles and responsibilities: contribute individually and/or as a team member to support designated functional area or project; work towards goals and objectives assigned by your supervisor; and analyze business opportunities for improvement opportunities.
Job Description: There will be two areas of responsibility for the Johnson & Johnson Facilities intern:
1. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Johnson & Johnson Corporate Facilities currently uses the Maximo CMMS system to manage assets on its New Brunswick campus. Responsibilities include the addition and removal of assets, job plans, as well as generating preventative maintenance (PM) work orders.

2. Facilities Project Management
The Facilities team currently has a number of ongoing projects that involve both the CMMS (Maximo) system, as well as Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) group. Respnsibilites include the inventory of all critical equipment on campus, updating jobs plans, writing preventative maintenance work orders. EH&S has two projects that will include working on Hazardous Energy (Lock-Out, Tag-Out) procedures, in order to create safe work procedures for critical equipment; as well as assisting in a Chemical Inventory Project, which aims to transition all MSDS information on campus to an electronic database.

General Qualifications for All Project Management Positions:
Project Experience
The intern should be well organized and able to multi-task, as well as work on their own. This includes the ability to plan a project from beginning to end, i.e. set goals, complete stages on time, meet with necessary individuals, and keep the project on course. They also must keep their supervisors/managers informed throughout the lifecycle of the project, and be able to seek out direction when needed.
Communication
• Good communication skills: written, oral, and face-to-face
• Able to interact with employees and contractors on all different levels and phases of projects
• Able to interact successfully with all involved, including interviews for information, setting up and keeping appointments, and extracting information key to the success of any project.
• Able to produce and communicate the knowledge back to individuals for feedback, corrections, and adjustments

Technical Computer Skills
Proficient with all Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook); experience with Share Point is preferred

Qualifications


Qualifications (Position Specific): The individual must have a general knowledge of Engineering and Systems which is crucial for managing projects that deal with the inner-working of systems within the facility. They must have a working knowledge of systems and equipment vital to safe operation, knowledge and understanding of the flow of energy through equipment, and effect of starting/stopping the flow of energy in an operational loop, and knowledge of chemicals and the potential risk of interaction with the environment is preferred.

Fields of Degrees: Mechanical/ Electrical/ Environmental Engineering, and Facilities Management

Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 Preferred
