Department Description
The Process Safety Center is part of the Chemical Development department (API Small Molecules Development) and gives safety advice about products and processes to R&D and Chemical Supply Chain groups within J&J. This Center operates as a center of excellence within the API SM division.

(Senior) Scientist Process Safety Center
Job description
- You are assessing the risk level of products and processes for our client, by means of chemical knowledge, experiments and available internal or external safety information
- You perform experimental studies in the laboratory and reports the conclusions and safety advice
- You are a member of different chemical project teams and point of contact and expert in process safety matters
- You develop and make use of modelling tools to transform data into physico-chemical and safety knowledge
- You use and maintain test equipment according to the quality norms and safety guidelines
- You work in diverse teams of chemists and engineers across the J&J pharma community
- You have interest in laboratory work and technology development within the Process Safety Center which expands its expertise
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education & experience
- You hold a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry or Bio-Engineer (in Organic Chemistry)
- Experience in safety risk assessment is an advantage
- Good knowledge of statistical and modelling tools (data analysis, multivariate analysis)
Competencies
- You have customer focus and results and performance driven
- You are able to work independently and in teams
- You have excellent communication skills
- You write fluently technical reports in English. Willingness to learn Dutch.
- You have a passion for chemistry and technology
