This position will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of facilities department activities such as housekeeping, security, café operations, mail services, managed print services, landscaping and facility inspections. Utilize state of the art technology, systems and process excellence tools while applying comprehensive and diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices within a broad assignment area. Plans, schedules and directs engineering projects requiring advance knowledge of a specialized field in order to meet required production, safety, environmental, administrative and financial requirements.
This position steers the facilities excellence program in regard to best practices, performance metrics and personnel within janitorial, security, café operations, mail delivery, managed print services, facility inspections and capital expenditures. This position provides an oversight role in administering major facility and maintenance projects. Guides and provides leadership to staff and sub-contractors on work assignments. Utilize technical competency, relevant work experience, and comprehensive/diverse facility engineering knowledge to generate valid creative solutions. Candidate will work with contractors and suppliers to keep track of performance requirements including scope, costs, quality of work, safety and environmental. Insures proper training and documentation is maintained. Implements best practices, factors performance metrics and leads personnel to exceed world class performance in facility operations. Candidate must have knowledge of plant layout techniques, plant systems (boilers, electrical, HVAC, chillers, etc.), machinery installations, and construction. This position conducts safety and environmental operations to meet requirements for the site. Develops and takes actions to completes timely safety and environmental action plans. This position will provide regular update for work progress.
This position monitors and maintains needs, priorities and timelines for project completion while assisting to control costs, expenses and managed budgets. Utilize and broaden use of electronic work order systems as well as establish use of web-based exposure to the facilities policies and procedures. This position assists in developing overall property management. Recognize and reward safe behavior and superior performance.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required for this role. A minimum of 6 years previous work experience and demonstrated leadership in the respective department (i.e. facility soft services activities, facility operations, etc.) is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all levels and functions is required. Experience working in a team environment with little or no supervision is required. Project management experience is required. Candidate must be able to implement necessary building support system changes and adjustments. Financial analysis experience dealing with cost improvements, spending and capital appropriation is required. Previous procurement experience is preferred. MS Office experience is required. Working knowledge of web based computer systems such as: Maximo work order systems (preventative, adhoc and predictive work), EduServe for tracking training requirements, EtQ for compliance to FDA regulated systems and procedures, and Ariba are preferred. This position is based in Raynham, MA.
