Item Portion Laboratory Technician located in Albuquerque, NM.

The Sample Item Portion Laboratory Technician is responsible for carrying out the plant's Sterilization Dose Audit
Program. This position will coordinate with Packaging Department's planning, external suppliers and manufacturing
personnel to schedule and retrieve audit product samples to secure samples on a timely basis. Perform physical
manipulation of product into Sample Item Portions (SIPs) under aseptic conditions. The Sample Item Portion Lab Tech will
aseptically package and ship SIPs to appropriate testing laboratories. This individual will also maintain accurate records
verifying that required samples have been collected, processed and dispersed to appropriate testing laboratories. The
incumbent will review incoming data for completeness and adherence to specifications and maintain communication
links with Corporate Sterilization Sciences and testing laboratories to ensure timely testing of samples. The Sample Item
Portion Lab Tech will aid in the investigation of sample failures and ensure laboratory's equipment is in working order.
The Sample Item Portion Laboratory Technician will manage the laboratory's supply inventories as well as create and
maintain laboratory's procedures and governing documents. This individual will execute the facility surface sampling
program, including organism morphology. This individual will report to Quality Systems Engineer, review and compile the
surface sampling data as well as being responsible to perform air viable testing as needed. This individual will participate
in implementation of the EMS management system including continual improvement, pollution prevention, objectives and
targets, and regulatory compliance. This individual will also implement and follow all applicable EMS procedures, adhere
to the site's EHS Code of Conduct and support protocols as necessary. The Sample Item Portion Lab Tech will assist QSE
with documents and process improvements including data collection, CAF's, document revisions, additional training, and
improvement implementation. This individual will follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the
work area and attend required safety training.

Qualifications
A High School diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's degree in laboratory technology or a related field
is preferred. Manufacturing scheduling and/or project coordination experience is preferred. Three or more years in
microbiological laboratory environment or equivalent training is preferred. The incumbent will be able to work in a selfpaced
environment and provide leadership to team as appropriate. A successful quality record is preferred. Basic writing
and oral communication skills are required and this individual must have good organizational skills. The ability to respond
to shifting priorities through appropriate realignment of required tasks is required.
Personal computer proficiency is required. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JDE, and Automated
Quality Record is preferred. This position requires long walking, standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional
lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required. Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using the phone and computer, daily
keyboard entry activities are required. Continual travel between the packaging production floor and the basement
laboratory location is required. It will be required to maneuver large product carts, loaded with product and operate
hydraulic and manual cutting equipment daily.
This position requires little to no travel and is located in Albuquerque, NM. This position may require the ability to work a
rotating shift, based on the needs of the business.
