Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products US, a member of Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Technicians for the 2nd (3 pm to 11:05 pm) & 3rd shift (11:00 pm to 7:05 am) located at our manufacturing facility in Lititz, PA.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, PediaCare® upper respiratory medicines for infants and children, ROLAIDS® antacid products, ST. JOSEPH® Adult Regimen Aspirin, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants. This role will support the manufacturing of several OTC products, including LISTERINE®, NEOSPORIN® , LUBRIDERM ® , DESITIN ® , and BEN-GAY®.
The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for equipment repairs and changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, corrective troubleshooting on machinery and its associated electrical and instrumental devices, equipment selection and installation, and equipment systems performance improvement. The electrical and instrumental focus will be on repetitive activities and recurring causes or prevention of equipment downtime. This individual will adhere to requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice as specified by the Food and Drug Administration as well as LOTO Procedures and Practices. This individual will provide direct packaging and manufacturing line support, preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment repair, changeovers and troubleshooting machinery and associated electrical and instrumental devices. In addition, this individual will be responsible for machine setup, fabrication of machine parts, and equipment and process improvements.The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining clean and orderly work stations, ordering and maintaining parts for assigned equipment responsibilities, data entry into Maximo CMMS, and assisting in equipment operation as necessary or helpful to improve task performance or productivity. This individual will utilize various hand and power tools, lathe, milling machine, cutting torch, forklift trucks, drill press, power lifts and trucks. This individual will observe all safety rules, practices and procedures in the performance of duties and assist in training of other personnel, as required, with similar or overlapping job functions.
Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of relevant experience is required. Relevant experience as it pertains to mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum systems in manufacturing/ packaging equipment, knowledge of pharmaceutical processes and packaging components, and the ability to operate machine shop equipment is highly preferred. One-year certificate/apprenticeship from college, technical, trade, and/or military school in a related trade area is preferred. Journeyman's Certification or 2+ year trade school or military equivalent is preferred. Written test will be administered to qualified candidates. Proficiency in the use of machine shop equipment (lathes, mills, presses, welding, etc.) is ideal but not required. Forklift Certification is highly preferred. Experience utilizing a CMMS is highly preferred.
