The Director – Mechanism Based Drug Disposition in the department of Pharmacokinetics Dynamics & Metabolism (PDM) will provide managerial, scientific, technical & strategic leadership to the Mechanistic Drug Disposition group and project axis as part of Preclinical Development & Safety (PD&S) global organization. The incumbent will have a demonstrated track record of managing a team, resolving scientific issues, and optimizing career development plans of department & team members. The role has a significant focus on the translational drug metabolism sciences with a particular focus on advanced pharmacokinetics as supported by complex study designs in vitro and in vivo to rationalize drug disposition observations both in preclinical species and in the clinic (i.e. to generate and refine PB-PK, drug-drug interaction, and PK-PD models). A track record of success in these areas is sought along with an appreciation of the rigor associated with the conduct of experimental work in Research & Development and, thereafter, in providing reports that will eventually support the filing of an NCE in global markets. In this regard, the candidate is likely to have a strong international reputation in this discipline coupled to a broader understanding of the PDM sciences that can be substantiated via references and a strong peer reviewed publication record of original research.

Qualifications


A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Science, and 12+ years of related industry and/or academia experience is required. Excellent communication and presentation skills is required. A demonstrated track record of leading complex scientific teams both directly & indirectly, resolving scientific issues, and optimizing career development plans of department members, are required. Will have maintained a leadership position in the translational drug metabolism sciences (e.g. advanced pharmacokinetics) internationally through publication in peer-reviewed journals, presentations, involvement in scientific/professional associations, initiating and maintaining collaborations with acadamia, refereeing scientific papers or serving in an editorial capacity on journals are desired. DMPK experience is required. Good organizational and problem-solving skills are needed. Must work effectively in a team environment. This position is located in Spring House, PA. There will be up to 15% domestic and international travel.
