Description
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Manufacturing Associate (Working a fixed 8 hour shift with prescheduled days off over a 7 day work week. The start time is 10:00pm – 6:30am), located in Lancaster, PA.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.
The Manufacturing Associate will work in either Solids Processing or Compression operations. The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for assembling and/or producing products according to detailed manufacturing processes. Will be accountable for adhering to and enforcing all quality and safety guidelines. Primarily responsible for leading other operators in the daily tasks associated with manufacturing. Reviews and redlines cleaning records, SOPs, and batch records as required.
The Manufacturing Associate performs manufacturing processes of increased complexity/responsibility/criticality, for example Processing/Compression to include machine reassembly/disassembly for cleaning purposes and/or minor trouble shooting based on training and operator experience level. Will be responsible to manufacture materials into granulation or bulk in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures and processes. Must maintain good manufacturing and documentation practices in accordance to procedures outlined in cleaning records, batch records, and SOPs. Performs in process tablet attribute checks in compression and GMP awareness in processing as governed by batch record, cleaning record, and SOPs.
Works in a team environment collaborating with business partners from operations, quality, engineering, and or planning to resolve equipment/process issues and assist with investigations by providing valuable insight. Monitors and responds to equipment and process issues that may lead to non-compliance. Notifies shift/team leader and area technician when tools or equipment need maintenance or repairs. Provides training to operators in basic and complex manufacturing processes.
The Manufacturing Associate identifies and elevates all immediate and potential quality, safety, or environmental issues (material, procedure, and process) as observed. Performs appropriate SAP transactions and retrieves required materials per BOM to complete the manufacturing order. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the applicable production area, process and/or manufacturing equipment. Must follow all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs), cleaning records, and batch records. Processes raw materials according to the validated process identified on the batch record, cleaning record, and SOPs, and follows all steps/instructions in batch records, cleaning records, and SOPs. Maintains an updated and current training record and adheres to training timelines.
Participates in Safety initiatives and programs by either joining Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or reporting unsafe practices/conditions to shift/team leader. Returns unused materials to appropriate point-of-use storage area by executing RF transactions and SAP following all applicable procedures. Cleans equipment per SOPs, and cleaning records using manual and automated (Girton) methods. Maintains area sanitization (including drains) as required according to local procedures
The Manufacturing Associate will participate in team meetings. Works as a team member with Team Leaders for process family line to ensure process outcomes (Business Unit results) are achieved.
The Manufacturing Associate will identify continuous improvement opportunities for process and equipment and will share work knowledge/expertise with fellow team members. Helps to meet daily efficiencies by focused approach to performing tasks compliantly and safely according to procedure/process. This individual may train new employees as requested. It is expected that the operator achieve Train The Trainer from Team/Shift Leader to assist with proper training of new employees.

Qualifications
This position requires a High school diploma or its equivalent. Five years’ experience working in a manufacturing operation is required, with at least 2 years of experience working in a GMP environment in the pharmaceutical, food or dairy industries is required. At least 3 years of experience with computerized materials management and document tracking systems is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to frequently lift/carry 1-10 lbs., and occasionally lift/carry 11-50 lbs. Must be able to lift from the ground to knees and waist and from the waist to shoulders. Basic computer skills, including Windows Operating Systems and applications or equivalent are required. Must be able to obtain forklift license. These positions will be for working a fixed 8 hour shift with prescheduled days off over a 7 day work week. You must be able to work 10:00pm - 6:30pm.
