The Engineering Technician IV will assist with planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance tasks for all building or material handling equipment. The individual will be responsible for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyors and conveyor control devices. Responsibilities include work order management and parts inventory using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS). The individual will work daily with peers, supervisors, engineers, and outside resources to support operations, recognize areas for opportunity, and drive continuous improvement. The Engineering Technician IV will conduct and document equipment audits to recognize areas for scheduled repair, improvements, upgrades, or equipment obsolescence/replacement. This individual will work closely with other maintenance trades, Operations Management, Quality Assurance, and Business Unit IT to schedule corrections or upgrades accordingly. Also maintain constant communication to provide department updates to all levels of management and other functional departments. The Engineering Technician IV will work with EHS to implement and maintain necessary safety procedures and regulatory requirements. This individual will assist in all stages of project management for in-house material equipment upgrades and major outsourced projects as necessary. Also maintain compliance and audit readiness for work order management, detailed design specifications, electrical schematics, and change management documentation. The Engineering Technician IV will complete all internal training, continuing education credits, and industry seminars as needed. This individual will manage contractors and related budget items as necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum of high school degree is required. An Associate degree or Bachelor degree preferred. Related technical degree or higher or Journeyman Electrical License is preferred. Minimum of five years of distribution/warehouse maintenance experience preferred. Leadership experience is preferred. Strong familiarity with supporting a large, high-volume distribution or manufacturing environment and all related maintenance activities is required. Experience with PLCs (programmable logic controller) is required. Experience connecting to networked PLCs, and interpreting/trouble-shooting PLC ladder logic is preferred. Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 and RSNetworx is preferred. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software is required. Hands on experience and the ability to interpret schematics, trouble-shoot and repair electrical circuits, I/O circuits, motor control circuits, and other related conveyor devices is required. The ability to maintain and configure barcode scanners, in-line labelers, case sealers, and stretch wrappers is required. Ability to help plan and complete general electrical controls projects is required. Serve as liaison between operations and outside contractors to assist with larger scale electrical control or equipment projects is a requirement. Demonstrated the ability to recognize and follow SOP’s. Excellent verbal/written communications skills and ability to develop strong operational partnerships across all functions. Excellent collaboration skills - team member/leader with the ability to contribute positively to the morale of the team. Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required. Knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD is preferred. Experience working in Health Care industry preferred.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs on a repetitive basis. Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete floors 95% of the time. Must be able to bend/twist; perform repetitive tasks. Demonstrated ability to use all job-related equipment is required. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment at 2 to 8 C (35 to 46 F) for 2 hours or more at a time.
This position is located in Bridgewater, MA and requires up to 5% domestic travel along with other sites as needed.
