Position Summary:

Today’s changing healthcare environment presents many exciting challenges for Medical Affairs professionals. Medical Affairs professionals within Janssen have opportunities to participate in high-level forums that connect with healthcare professionals, government agencies and industry leaders to shape a complex policy ecosystem. Medical Affairs professionals are involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, so they have numerous opportunities to contribute innovative ideas, product improvements, and service models that advance the health and well-being of patients and consumers.

The Graduate Medical Affairs Assistant will support customer facing managers by enabling them to spend the maximum time with customers and through the effective facilitation of medical education events. This exciting opportunity with enable a recent graduate to get a high level of exposure to the medical side of the pharmaceutical industry; understanding the role of medical affairs as a leader, whilst also acting as cross functional team player.

The primary responsibilities of this role relate to the Medical Education team, in particular around events management. They will be responsible for managing a comprehensive series of annual events medical education events across all five of Janssen’s therapy areas. They will also be responsible for ensuring any meetings/interactions are put through the correct systems with the appropriate processes and the utmost accuracy.

The role will also support other teams within the Medical Affairs segment. This will include Medical Information (providing information and insights about Janssen products and services to healthcare professionals and patients) and Drug Safety (investigating occurrences of adverse events relating to Janssen medicines).

Events management:
- Understand the medical education strategy and recruitment
- Help create materials / manage agency for items such as invites, posters, slide templates
- Ensure the stand is visually appealing as well as compliant – liaise with agency
- Work with business analytics to ensure the right metrics are captured
- Enter events into i-Connect and follow the approval process, including finalising once the event has finished (if medical events, liaise with MEM to enter these and become team member to do all updates)
- Contract approval in Zinc where necessary
- Create contracts for sponsorship of HCP’s to go to conferences
- Book customer travel and accommodation through CTO, if necessary
- Register customer for the conference
- Ensure customers know what they are doing, what responsibilities are theirs and what Janssen can do/not do
- Track all event attendees
- Liaise with event venues
- Book restaurants and other hospitality when appropriate
- Be the primary contact on logistical issues
- Create booklet/card/letters for customers with maps and information on the conference and arrangements
- Collect and collate data for my manager to present

Medical education materials:
- Liaise with medical education agency to develop new materials
- Put new materials through copy approval and reapprove older ones
- Ensure all our materials are in date and compliant
- Manage the logistics of the materials, ensuring we have sufficient stock levels of materials in Pharmisis
- Help manage the med ed content on JDF, drs.net etc

Qualifications


Skills and experience:
- Recent graduate within the last two years
- Strong enthusiasm to enter the medical affairs segment of the pharmaceuticals sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to balance conflicting demands and priorities
- Independent with a high level of initiative
- Able to quickly establish strong working relationships
- High level of professionalism
- Must enjoy driving process improvements
