Global Health Services (GHS) delivers quality, cost effective and value added integrated health and wellness services such as Occupational Health, Wellness & Health Promotion and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services that promote prevention, education and self-responsibility. For our multiple locations in the Solothurn area we are looking for an Occupational Health (OH) Physician.

You will be expected to provide OH related care to different sites J&J employees, as well as coordinating all medical related activities across the sites in Switzerland ensuring compliance and consistency.
Additionally, you would need to provide expertise in the prevention, evaluation, and management of conditions that are due to work related exposure. You will also need to provide support in the prevention and management of occupational injuries and illnesses, as well as promote general wellbeing and contribute to the productivity of the workplace.

Your Role
- Understanding of Swiss regulatory compliance and the J&J requirements
- Be knowledgeable of the applicable country health related legislation and communicate impact to stakeholders and partners, as well as an understanding of the J&J requirements, programs, resources and policies and how this is related to regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in clinical practice:
- Practice evidence based medicine and demonstrate proficiency in, clinical interventions, history taking, medical examination and performing special investigations as required based on good medical practice.
- Maintain medical records in a confidential manner, aligned with privacy requirements.
- Understand the process of obtaining employee consent when needed.
- Act as medical resource to other site professionals and management for information, problem solving, and decision making related to OH related issues.
- Support the development of the medical aspects of the site emergency preparedness plan, including the selection of appropriate emergency equipment.
- Support the development of the travel health program as per J&J requirements.
- Assess the work environment
- Recognize the potential hazards in the work environment support the evaluation of risks and provide advice on measures to control the risks.
- Review the site risk assessment data and collaborate in the development of Similar Exposure Groups.
- Participle in the workplace inspections, MAARS JA audits and injury/illness investigations.
- Be knowledgeable of the Safety Data Sheets and know how to interpret.
- Support the site medical surveillance program:
- Develop/support the site medical surveillance program, including biomonitoing and trending.
- Collaborate where needed in the development of OH required training.
- Provide aggregate medical information where needed on the outcome of medical surveillance.
- Develop/support the trending of medical surveillance assessments results.
- Assessment of disability and fitness:
- Conducts Fitness for Work assessments as applicable, including new hire assessments, periodical medical surveillance examinations and Return to Work assessments.
- Support the site absence management as appropriate and demonstrate expertise in specific medical case management
- Collaborate with employee to recommend employee placement, limitations/restriction and/or job modifications. Provide advice on rehabilitation, redeployment & possible early retirement due to ill health.
- Recognize and advice on emerging issues (e.g. demographic & environmental changes) and that may impact Global Health service delivery.
- Lead the development of a company health promotion program based on aggregate employee health risk assessment data with the outcome of offering educational opportunities that will address the most important lifestyle health risks and measure effectiveness of interventions.
- Manage the relationship with local external OH Physicians for the swiss Sites:
- Support the development of the Global Health program from medical view in order to be in compliance with J&J and legal requirements.
- Coordinate all medical activities through all sites with support from local OHP in order to deliver a consistent and aligned system.
- Link with the global Solution team in order to contribute in the development of guidelines when needed on specific subject
- Manage the medical part of the OH Index with local support.
- Be able to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the medical onsite Global Health program and health professionals.
- Support the company in managing psychosocial issues and, where appropriate, refer employees/family members to available services, including Employee Assistance.
- Support the deployment of the Energy for Performance in Life program on a need basis only.

Qualifikationen
- Educational requirements: Medical as General Practioner and Post-Graduate in Occupational Medicine
- Experience:5 years OH related experience
- Ability to act as a medical resource to other site professionals and to management for information, problem solving, and decision making related to OH related issues
- Be able to handle complaints and challenging issues in a focused and constructive manner.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to participate, where required, in the recruitment of staff, support professional development, conduct performance appraisals and act as role model and mentor
- Oral and written communications skills in order to effectively interact across different cultures with employees, partners and stakeholders; deliver reports to stakeholders; participate in committees, act as chairperson where needed
- Demonstrated business acumen, including understanding of English, computer literacy, understanding & knowledge of the core business on site, ability to market and promote site OH services
- Empathy and understanding in interactions with employees, ability to partner within the team as well as with different groups
- Ethical attitude in all aspects of service delivery
