Neutrogena Corporation, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Facilities Group Lead Mechanic, located in Los Angeles, CA.
This role will have the responsibility over the overall facilities maintenance area with focus on equipment, infrastructure for plant operations, and overall responsibility of personnel facilities activities during assigned shift. This position will also support other daily plant activities with emphasis on electrical systems, electrical controls, and PLCs such as equipment operation, equipment monitoring, equipment maintenance and repair, equipment/systems trouble shooting, equipment & infrastructure upgrades, communication with other departments, and special projects.
This position will be reporting to the Facilities Engineer Team Lead.
This position will lead, direct, and coordinate facilities mechanic’s daily activities.
Train and assign facilities maintenance personnel on proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs techniques. Participate in multi-functional teams to resolve facilities maintenance issues and challenges across all three shifts and with various departments. Work is of a technical nature where decisions are made within limits and guidelines of general practices and procedures but where minimal supervision is available to handle unusual situations. Assist the facilities maintenance crew and production personnel with adjustments to facilities equipment. Review Preventative Maintenance procedures for all facilities equipment to ensure they are robust and assist in revising job plans and PM’s. Review/Verify proper GDP is followed for all documents; work orders, logbooks and forms. Review and approve completed work on corrective maintenance, emergency, and preventive maintenance work orders. Perform assigned MAXIMO tasks. Be the first point of contact between the facilities Mechanics and the Team Leader. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality guidelines. Develop and maintain a high level of facilities teamwork within the shift and with other shifts. Coordinate and oversee the daily shift pass downs. Communicate with production personnel regarding status of the facilities equipment.
Lead and maintain good housekeeping in the facilities equipment area, Maintenance shop, and storage areas and hold facilities mechanics accountable for maintaining these areas. Identify potential facilities maintenance issues and avoid problems by communicating with team lead and production the possible or actual delays.
Supervise purified water, boiler, compressors, HVAC, and any other required contractors to assure all systems are in acceptable working condition. Adhere and be flexible to rotating schedules/shifts as needed per plant requirements. Update knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/ISO and environmental and safety regulations.
Stay current with the plant’s training curriculum and certifications requirements.
Qualifications
This person must have a High school diploma required. Completion of electrical & mechanical technical certification from an accredited institution preferred.
A minimum 10 years of related plant experience and plant monitoring experience preferred. Experience in boiler operations electrical, PLC operations preferred. Must have experience leading a team preferred. Knowledge of NEC electrical code preferred
