The Senior Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist to lead the site in maintaining compliance to local, state, national regulations as well as ISO 14001, OHSAS 18000/OSHA VPP and Johnson and Johnson Worldwide EHS Standards.

The Senior Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist will provide EHS technical, operational and conceptual support in, at a minimum to: Safety Engineering concepts and practices related to occupational safety; Regulatory requirements and permitting; Machine Guarding concepts and requirements; Lock out and Tag out Concepts and Requirements; Warehouse Safety; Clean Air Act and Air Permitting; Ergonomics in the workplace; Emergency Response and Fire Safety Management; Waste and chemical management and approval; Environmental footprint reduction initiatives (i.e. water, waste, energy); and EHS Assessments (New Process, Process Changes, Moves, Decommissioning, Transfers, etc.).

The Senior Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist will maintain all required EHS records and documentation. He/she will manage audits and inspections (external and internal). One will conduct, with Global Health Services, investigations of injuries or accidents. He/she will manage the EHS Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) System for the site. One will work closely with Departments in the implementation of the various EHS&S Programs. As well as work closely with Synthes site leads across the region to promote a culture of awareness and leveraging.

The Senior Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist must know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times. He/she will diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by your supervisor or our Chief Compliance Officer. He/she must promote and nurture the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compliance, and actively support our compliance program-related initiatives and activities, and consistently enforce employee compliance, including attendance at training programs, and promptly report any non-compliance to the Chief Compliance Officer.

Qualifications


To be considered for the role a Bachelor Degree is required. A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science is preferable. An advanced degree in Engineering or Science is preferable. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a GMP and/or ISO environment is required. Experience investigating and performing root cause analysis and working with the business to find creative solutions to issues is required. Previous experience in developing/managing site-specific procedures and programs based on corporate/franchise guidance and standards is required. One must have experience with routine decisions regarding assessment of risk and implementation of control measures is required. Knowledge with NFPA 70E, NEC NFPA 70B training, CSP or CIH Certification, and/or Ergonomics training/certification is desired. Knowledge or Training in the following is preferred: DOT; IATA; RCRA; GHS; OHSA, EPA, CDC Regulations. Experience using the following tools is preferred: gas meter; air sampling pumps; dosimeters; and noise meters. One must have ability to communicate well with others as well as collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Candidate has to feel comfortable with communications and presentations to Site Leadership. One must have the ability to conduct instructor-led trainings and computer-based trainings as well as prepare all documentation for the trainings. Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office. Knowledgeable of Microsoft SharePoint.

This position will be based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and travel up to 10%, including potential international travel.
